| GPS Customer Overview
AlliedSignal the first major implementation was executed by three pioneers in the Six Sigma consulting industry. Gary Cone, one of those pioneers and a GPS founder, led the training and consulting efforts in the Automotive business sector. Over 2 years, Gary trained and mentored the executives, dozens of champions, hundreds of Black Belts and the first Master Black Belts in industry. Many of those Master Black Belts have begun their own consulting practices.
General Electric falsely advertised as the first major implementation (Larry Bossidy actually sold Jack Welchs staff on the idea!) Gary Cone was the only consultant interviewed to lead the effort from inside GE. Due to contractual obligations to AlliedSignal, Gary was unable to pursue the internal position but rather his consulting firm, Six Sigma International (now Six Sigma Qualtec), was awarded the contract to provide training and consulting to eight of GEs businesses. <.p>
Black & Decker began their Six Sigma efforts in 1997. Aimee Cowher, one of the first industry Master Black Belts from AlliedSignal and a GPS founder, developed champions, trained their first 4 waves of Black Belts, trained their first rounds of Green Belts, and generated self-sufficiency within 18 months by developing Master Black Belts and creating customized training materials for use internally as well as within their supply base.
